Get an LSD and some bigger stickier front tires and you will destroy them turbo cars. The turbos will have to play catchup, and by the time they do the race is usually over already.
I own an 87 Dodge Daytona turbo, it depends on what RPM you floor it at for how long it takes the turbo to spool. Over 3K it may take about .5 second (which still seems like forever when your racing), anyless than 3K RPM and yes it takes a full second. Even if you floor it at 5K RPM you don't have instant full boost. I have about an instant 5 PSI if I floor it at 5K+ RPM, then it takes like that .2 seconds to spool. Not to mention my daytona is a 2.2L, so it pumps out more exhaust than a B18 so my turbo would spool faster.
