Re: burgundy pics

Woah look at those rims! I'm glad they revised them, IMO those don't look good

Look at the rest of the design too - it appears that the center section between the wheels was fairly set at the time of that drawing, but the front obviously saw a few revisions and the rear in that photo is almost completely different.

Page 46 & 49 of "Driving Ambition" also feature some of the early concept sketches which are interesting to look at. Even better, are some of the photos on page 35 which were artist renderings of what the McLaren F1 might look like as was seen from the motoring press at the time. None of them even came close - a testament to McLaren Cars secrecy during the development process.

Re: burgundy pics

Hello !

Who take these shots ? The pics are very beautiful. I remind me and I can telle you that photographer was lucky enough to see the car before it arrive on top of the hill near others supercars and meet the crowd. The McLaren was not in the list and came by chance !

A question from a friend : the command of view mirrors is common with Open ?

Ciao
Phil

I took the time to clean up one of Andrew's photos that I thought was really spectacular, but had a few distracting elements in it. I hope you will appreciate my efforts. It's probably going to be my wallpaper until a better McLaren F1 photo comes along. I don't see that happening very soon though. I think this shot could easily be featured in EVO magazine now that it's been cleaned up.

well done Peloton, nice work. You should post both pics and see if everyone can spot the differences, haha.

Plus peloton, do you only have 2 pics of xp1 and 2 of xp2?

The original is actually on page 3 of this thread, but I'll put it here to make for an easier comparison.

= = = = =

As for XP1 - I think I know which two you are referring to - dark almost overhead shots. I also have some scans that mini magic pulled from "Driving Ambition" and maybe just a few more. I'll have to look for you.

For XP2, I only have the crash pics in digital form, but I did recently buy a magazine off of Ebay that has a few more photos of the car prior to it's turquoise paint job for the MIRA test. I'll get a scanner soon, and then I'll be everyone's best friend.
