ECU base map wanted for Celica GT4 or Carlos Sainz
Does anyone have access to a base map from the ECU of a GT4 or Carlos Sainz.
What chip does the ECU use, and is it socketed or soldered in. Any info on re-mapping would be appreciated. I have succesfully mapped of 80 Pre96' Impreza Turbo's and would like to extend my skills base in order to remap a friends Carlos Sainz. |

here you go:
http://member.newsguy.com/~gtfour/stockmap.htm Or you can contact Reg at RCTS in Canada. He has reprogrammed many Toyota ECU. He has the Techtom software, etc... Search for RCTS in Calgary Alberta Canada. |

Thanks for that...
Looking at that timing map, it looks like the Rev's Scale is in reverse. No way would you be running 30 Degree's at full Rev's/Full load. Normally about 10-18, dependant on car and state of tune. Also the timing should retard somewhere around 4,000-5,500 rpm as this is the region most likely to detonate. If you reverse the Rev's you'll see that it does just that i.e drops from 14 down to 8, then back up to 10. At least it's given me some addresses to look at... Do you know if the chip in the ECU is socketed or soldered ? Just need to find the boost target and control maps. |

Re: ECU base map wanted for Celica GT4 or Carlos Sainz
ok. let me clear things up.
Reg, is a guy at RCTS in Canada. He has worked with TTE in the past. The link I posted is Dennis Heath's site. The graph is correct. He is one of the top tuners I've ever had hte pleasure to talk to. If you email him, he will be able to assist you. For now, just take my word for the 30*. :P |

and fwiw, the Japanese market ECUs are a bit more aggresive with timing.
