Help!!..ZC swap going Bad.

ok i put the ZC in my 91"honda civic Std. HatchBack with all the requirements an everything went in fine..but went to Start it an its like its missin..it makes like that puut puut Noise an i checked the injectors an i put a wire tester on the inectors all of them are fine but the # 1 injector has a lag..like the rest of the Injectors blink an that one has a Steady like dem to it.im guessing its the way i wired the injectors or somethin else what else could make it lag?, i HAd to wire up the Distributor with out the plug an if i put the test light on the Positive Batt. Terminal an but it to the Injectors, the # 1 injector has no pulse an giving me a steady dem light, but the rest of the Injectors give me a Pulse, if i ground out the test light an put it on the # 1,4 injectors it will stay running but if i put it on the #2,3 it shuts off..an the Computer is pulling Codes 10 an 16, 10 is the Air Temp. Sensor, 16 is the Injector setup..so thats what gave me the idea to Test the Injectors..someone please help me.

The wiring harness will not match up. You need to do an DPFI to MPFI conversion first. Do a search and you will find the info or at least a link to the info.

not to step on toes ... but being the first person to respond thats actually the wrong answer ... first thing you need to do is identify if he is swapping in a dock or a sock ZC. that may or maynot make your statement completely invalid. Sock ZCs run just dandy as dpfi, docks dont.

so SlamedownCivic single or dual overheads?

from there ill leave the technical stuff to searchs on the board, which i highly suggest for information as many people have already had problems that may or may not help you out. and if all else fails this thread should get someones attention.

to my personal experience with MY sock ZC, i get the same noise. so when you figure it out let me know. cause i wonder if my injectors are shit or if its something with the ZC

Damn man, your just all over me, you corrected my other post too, lol. Well, if you would have read this before he edited his origninal post, he claimed that he pulled a ZC out of an Si and that his wiring harness did not match up, he did not say much else. So I can only assume that is was already wired in as multi-port and putting it in as DPFI would be a step backwards. Just my .02. Too SlamedownCivic, in case you do not understand what he is referring to when he says "socks" and "docks", he mean SOHC and DOHC...I personally have never heard of those two phrases and assuming your a newbie, talking in those terms will not help you. Also...nemo-wolf, we are talking about inline fours here, so there is only one head, lol. Just bustin' your chops in good fun man

peace

Whoa man, I am not having words, as you put it, lol. I was not offended by what he said, I was just messing with him because I thought it was funny that the two posts I made yesterday, he responded to, "sort of" correcting me in both of them.

Anyway, to be honest, I could not quite understand your description of your problem...I am assuming that "dem" means dim, which by the way using a test light on something like that is not really safe for your ECU. Yes, it does sound like you have either a problem with your injector wiring or possibly your ECU. Which ECU are you using? I would refer to this http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/how-to's/mpfi_conversion.htm
and make sure you have done all the little things correctly.

Griff

P.S. Sorry you thought I was jacking your thread to argue with nemo-wolf, but that was not the case.

very good point. something else to know is what you started with. okay so you have a 91 std but was it the stock engine or was there already a swap done.

the point of this is that one, if your using the ECU from your stock engine thats your problem. Your ecu is for a SOHC dpfi engine and not a DOHC MPFI engine. I cant see your wiring, but you might want to make sure everything is connected properly and nothing is say grounding. sloppy wiring can make an issue, not saying you did but its an issue to consider.
