Ok,,, Im thinkin of gettin a 2000 Toyota Celica. I don't want to keep the stock 4 in it so what would be a good engine to pop in her that would give her some nice speed n pep, for decent money, Im plannin on doin some drag with friends eventually but I can't afford some 15,000 engine. So you know my prediciment what should I do/
Any advice/ |

Plus when you do get around to spending more money on the car and getting a better eninge at least you could still reuse the turbo and intercool.

Re: Enigine fo my 2000 Celica (help)
If you have $7,000 to play with then there are a few possiblities. I don't know about toyotas but we typically charge $3500 total for a full engine rebuild including forged internals, gaskets, labor, removal, reinstall, etc. We also do custom turbo kits starting at $2000.00 intercooled. From there the possibilites are endless.

Well, if you're looking at the GT version, it's a better engine to turbo than the GTS (compression). Do a search and read about turbo kits for the MR-S. It's the same engine as the GT celica. While you're at it, search for turbocharged GTs. Or just get a Celica All-trac for less than $7000 and put $10K into it. Viola, much, much, much, faster. :P Seriously though, turbo charging it would be the easiest/cheapest way. Just do it right the first time. You need proper engine managment to do anything like this. Anytime you start using 3 or 4 elec. gizmos to trick the stock ECU, you're asking for trouble. Regards |
