Please help trying to change alt. and cant get belt loose
How do I loosen the belt? Thanks

theres a belt tensioner in the back somewhere...take a hammer and push it down it will loosen the belt...

depends on the year of the cav. Most cav before 1995 have a pully tensioner the you need to pull up on using the mounting bolt in the center with the correct socket and breakerbar. after 95 they changed the layout and you have to push down on the pully. to locate the the pully look for the pully not driving anything else. be carfull doing any of that because the tensioner is sprung loaded and if pushed or pulled too far will sometimes shorten the life of the tensioner and you will then have to replace it as well.
