This was built by my friend Wayne Webers for our Atlanta NNL this past weekend. I helped him with parts of it over the past several months, he did a great job on it, his best model to date. While he was finishing it up, I was feverishly working on my Nismo version.
It's the Tamiya kit w/the SAS C-West conversion package. It was very complicated for a beginner to body modifications, especially considering both hood and front end were removed at the same time...anyone considering this conversion would be wise to do the hood first, then the front end, or vice-versa, as there is very little body integrity w/both parts removed. Wayne had some issues w/sanding etc. so a few of the parts like some smaller scoops in the resin were filled/modified. Understand that this was his very first conversion, it was very hard to do this kind of work, yet he persevered! Paint is Tamiya Metallic Black over gloss aluminum. Decals are derived from the 510 BRE racer, modified to fit the Z and done in orange and carbon fiber decals. Rear spoiler from an FD RX-7. Racing seats from ?? and harnesses were added inside. I'm pretty proud of his accomplishment, it's amazing how different his Z is from mine and Veyron's and the others that were on display this past weekend (9 total!). This variation evokes a classic feel from the '70's Z cars, you could look at it from across a room and know that it's a Z car. The two tone paint accentuates the C-West package very nicely IMHO.

WOW :22yikes: that's an incredibly cool paintjob!! I'm a bit of an old skool guy myself but with all these cool 350Z's popping up I've now gone and ordered myself one from HLJ
This is an outstanding effort, especially with the resin bits. I almost thought about getting an SAS kit for mine but having never fitted a transkit or even worked with resin parts I was hestitant. This 350Z gets a triple thumbsup from me! |

*grumbles* I've only been saying that the 350Z would look good in a BRE paint scheme for how long now?
It's a very good looking model, though. Tell Wayne he did a great job.
