Im thinking of turbocharging my d16 sohc. but im only 17 and my dad checks my car once in a while to see if i dont got no illegal stuff in my car. Or if i do put somethin that it will be legal. And is turbochargin legal? and if it is what kind? after you get are you supposed to go get it checked for it to be legal? I have a 99 civic lx.

Yes, turbocharging is leagal. Basically, you can do anything to any part of the car that doesn't effect the safety (like doors, headlights). If your state has emissions and/or safety inspections, your car must still be able to pass those. I know that a turbo won't make you fail emissions (don't know about CA emissions, its different than other states)

turbo charging is awsome. I just put a garret t3 on my 1999 ex and it flys. Im pushin 153hp at the wheels.
