obd I vs obd II

Which is better? When did integras start with the obdII? I don't plan to do any extensive mods.. just the i/h/e.

Re: obd I vs obd II

OBD I(92-95 model integras) is alot esier to work with than OBD II(96+) So if you don't want to do anything crazy OBD II will work fine but if you plan on chipping your car later on for performance or any type of ecu mods go with and older OBD I car either one will work just fine with basic mods. And in the LS,GS,RS trim the 92-95 had 2 more horsepower than 96+ integras 142 vs 140 due to OBD I vs OBD II. OBD II had I think 1/2 mpg better gas mileage though.

Actually only the 94-95 had the 2 extra hp and 6 lbft of tq over the 92-93.

personally i'd go ahead and buy a newer obd2 integra since it'll most likely be in better condition and have lower mileage than the earlier obd1 integras - then buy a wiring harness/jumper + ecu to convert to obd1, if obd1 is what you really want

(thats what i'm doing)
