n00b question
hey i love the 97-98 240sx. I was just wondering why its so cheap, and if it has anyhting to do with the car's reliability. Also, if anyone on the east coast or nearby had one. Thanks.

What I've seen is that sporty cars usually go for more money used if they are manual, but they are always cheaper to buy in manual new. Auto is usually even with manual on regular cars and cars that lazy people buy (camaros and mustangs come in auto a lot and they still usually get a good price compared to manual).
And 97/98 don't seem to be going really cheap...though the prices are pretty cheap in most cases considering it's only a 5/6 year old car and it's fucking badass.

Re: n00b question
I have a 95 zenki, got it for only $3,900. Thinking about converting it to a kouki front end though, that'll be badass. Someone said it'll only cost around 2gs (costed him $1,800 somehow) and maybe sell it for much higher. But, it will probably look so cool I'll probably just keep it in the end.

Re: n00b question
indeed the kouki has a very aggresive look. why didn't you settle for a 97-98 model? to me, 95-96 models are SWEET and way better than 97-98. the front reminds me of a r32/old school look. i actually have a setup with a 96' se that looks almost like an r32 (if you use your creativity, you know what i mean =p).
i got my 96' se for $5300 with 96k miles which is automatic also (hehe). to me, $5300 is already a good deal. on a second note... i dont think 95' 240s are a choice among 240s. i've heard of numerous recalls from that car. 96' fixes most of the probs =). the reason why you are probably seeing low prices is because of milage. on 240s, milage seem to always be REALLY HIGH. even higher than those hard driven Honda Civics!! so keep a close note about price, milage, condition of car, etc. |
