Herb's definitely appears to be more white than magnesium silver to me. It also appears to be whiter than base silver, meaning it can't be one of the two. I think right now it's narrowed down to #49 or #70. If you want to compare it against magnesium, I've got the links to the pics here so you can do so: Herb Chambers' car (the famous pic w/ him next to it)

and #65, the former park lane car (sorry that has circles around the mirrors, you can tell it came from the thread "the mclaren on park lane is an early one". I picked it because that pic shows the color very well, it seems like the glass isn't even there!)

yeah, silver is a right PITA. It dosn't look that great either.

i'm pretty sure its chassis #070. Btw, that isn't him next to it

I can also say with 95% certainty that its not #049, just leave it that. You have to trust me with this one

I'm positive it's mercedes brilliant now, have a look at Selldorff's #68 in that color:

Now we just need to find out if it's 70 or 49. mini_magic, what is the source of your information?

i can tell you its not mercedes silver, i've seen that color and its not. i've given up. ur on your own now. Good luck

Well IMO,

these two cars are illuminated differently !

So, If you look the clear part you can say it mercedes silver, if you look the dark part you can say, it's magnesium silver ...

i think they are different colours but i don't think the bottom one is magnesium, it looks too dark.

Then how could Herb's be #70? I didn't hear about it being for sale, and I think if it was for sale, he wouldn't send it all the way to germany...
