i have a (2 door) 98 honda civic ex... was wondering if anyone knew what might be the problem w/my door. the power lock switch (on the driver's side) locks the passenger side fine, and i think it can also be done manually on the inside. however, from the OUTSIDE, the car key will NOT open the passenger door. any ideas as to why that is so... and moreover, any suggestions on a solution and/or quick fix? any help is GREATLY appreciated!

is the key an original or a copy that has been made from an original?
you will know if it is an original key because it will have a black top that says honda on it. i have found that a lot of cut keys wont open the locks anywhere near as well as an original if at all. the problem comes in that they are flawed a lot of the time (person doesn't know how to use key cutter well enough) another little trick I have learned if the lock is just stickey is that a little ATF in the lock goes a long way... it lubricates, keeps water away, and has a slight detergent to help clean a little. try putting some on your key and working it around in the lock... (but not so much that it runs off all over your door)
