Talking Garfield the movie!

Garfield is one of my favorite strips & I'm glad their making this. I used to read the books, buy the toys, & watch the cartoon all the time. I'm not really into the daily strips as they've gotten slightly boring. Yesterday's was horrible. But back on-topic, I'll be camping out for this one.

Re: Garfield the movie!

I remember seeing a short movie about garfield going to visit a farm many years ago, but it was done in the same style as the cartoon.

Don't want to disappoint you but I think it's not gonna be good and rather the opposite actually. Look at what they have done when converting non human caracters in movie... Scoobydoo anyone? Apparently Bill murray will do the voice so that's a + but I'm afraid that the rest will be pretty annoying.

I LOVE Garfield but I am afraid they are going to screw this up I would be happy if thy just did a full length movie like the cartoon was.

Hardcore Garfield fans will probably love it. But I know it'll suck b/c it'll have that computer animation look and not the original look.

I like Garfield in a comic strip. He's best when the jokes are short (real short). I won't be going to see the same thing in the movies and I think they'll flop if they try and make him more then the self centered lasagna eater he is.

Re: Garfield the movie!

I myself am worried they'll over-do it or something but the one thing that gives me hope is that the guy who wrote Toy Story will also be writing this.

Ditto, I think it was rather well done, and I have similar hopes for garfield, even if it is just more excess comcerialism, and nothing more than a pathetic attempt to take my money by appealing to an emotional attachement with a cleaver bit of satire-how ironic.
