Gains on 93 dx hatch w/ intake & exhaust
with the intake I can feel a gain on mid-range through high but...
There is a little kick right after i rev past 3.5 and it picks up until redline... when I drive my cousin's 93 dx hatch with only intake.. i don't feel the extra kick on the high end... is this the exhaust? My car is not fast by any means.. i just want to know what might be causing this. |

It's the engine. It's hard to actually feel a 5whp gain...

Re: Re: Re: Gains on 93 dx hatch w/ intake & exhaust
His exhaust manifold and exhaust aren't as wide as the intake, bottlenecking airflow. His engine isn't able to breath as well as yours, so yeah he prolly needs an exhaust for that extra kick.
Read around and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know on i/h/e physics including back pressure, delta pressure (expanding gasses as they exit the exhaust), etc etc etc... |
