The White Stripes Live in Wellington, 8 October 2003
Holy crap.
Went to see them last night. In short, best concert I've seen yet. The first band sucked, some band from Auckland, boring and uninspired. Next up was Whirlwind Heat from Michigan, better, but different. Bass, drums, vocals, and a Moog. No Guitar. Then the White Stripes came on, they started with Black Math then just morphed into another song...can't quite remember what it was, but most of the songs would morph into eachother. They played most of the good tracks off all their albums, like Dead Leaves..., Jolene, I'm Finding It Harder to be a Gentlemen, Cold Cold Night (Meg White can sing ) etc. There was a short break, with the whole crowd going nuts for an encore. They came back on, we went nuts again. They played my favourite (Ball & Biscuit) and that went on forever with the solos...was amazing. Then it suddenly all went quiet, and they were just tapping slowly. I have never seen a crowd go as apeshit as when the tapping suddenly became the opening riff for Seven Nation Army, complete with strobes in the chorus. Like I said, best concert I've even been to, the raw energy these two people have on stage just blew me away. We were right up near the front, which was a good view, plus we got the bulk of the water spray from the security guards ![]() It hurts to move, but it's worth it. 5/5 *edit* Forgot to mention they played a wicked slow version of Fell in Love With a Girl *edit*

It's about as far from assault as you can get. They had 5 litre (I guess, couldn't tell) spray bottles full of water that they would mist and spray into the crowd to cool us down, it was awesome. It wasn't meant as crowd control or anything, just for relief. It gets hot in there. Iron Maiden

Keith Richards is alive?
I thought the walking dead were zombies, not alive.btw - I dont know who White Stripes are, but if they are like Iron Maiden, then I don't really care to hear their 'music'

Hmm,that's funny, considering they've been going for at least 4 or 5 years and have 4 albums released. ![]() But anyway, don't rain on my buzz thread, no negativity here ![]() BTW, did you get the new IM album?
