I used to have an 89 lude (old school design) I'd have to say that I like the Sol better. It's alot faster, and lighter. I never did any preformance stuff for the lude, but depending on the year, the Del Sol should have a Civic engine in it (It's actually called the Civic Del Sol) so preformance parts should be plentifull. I'm sure that a VTEC sol would probably smoke a newer Lude (Del Sol VTEC has a DOHC VTEC, where the Si has a SOHC VTEC) I know for sure that my 93si sol could run circles around my old lude. Downside of the Sol: Doesnt handle rain/snow very well, and it's so small that alot of ppl dont see you on the road and pull into your lane, running you off the road

Loopey>>>
Yeah, I got the "chick car" routine from all my buds. Know what I did about it? I got it anyway, so there. To my pals: ![]() Vicious>>> As for the Del Sol itself, it handles very well though and I've been immensly happy with it. I'm not as sure about it taking a newer Prelude, but I could be wrong. The suspension is the same as the Civic Si and the Acura Integra and a lot of the parts on the Del Sol are interchangealbe with parts from Integras and other Civics, which includes motor parts. And yes, there are tons of aftermarkets parts for the Del Sol. I think the VTEC model may have the most though. FYI: VTEC Prelude H22A motor: 200hp DOHC VTEC (not sure if it came with different motors for other models) VTEC Del Sol B16A3 (B16A2) motor: 160hp DOHC VTEC Based on that, I would say the Prelude would beat the Del Sol. I don't make it my business to race Preludes on a regular basis though, so don't take my word for it.

I have a 2001 Prelude and a 1996 del Sol S, and i love them both, but the torque the the h22 in the prelude produces is really fun, and it hadles like nobodys business, but the del sol is slower, but it is so sweet just being able to take the targa off, and if you make the car look good, people will mistake it for a higher class car, like an s2k, or a benz CLK, but the del sol still has so much potential, and anything theat you can swap and boost in a civic or a teg, will bolt right in to an EG2, so get a sol if you find a clean one, because they are rare and if executed correctly, a real chick magnet. peace bro
