Changing second intake point

Me and a buddy were doing some research and we found the relay that makes that extra boost of power at 5000 rpm. there is a little modual under the intake manafold that makes a second butterfly open that makes the more power. It is a vacume relay that makes it open at 5000 rpm at full throttle. Does anyone have any other ideas. We are going to get a rpm activated switch and make that thing kick in earlier. we were wondering if anyone knows how low i can go as far as rpms.

Re: Changing second intake point

some people have ziptied the 2nd runner open all the time and there was no difference in power, they even dyno'd it and it showed no difference

I wouldn't go through all that work to get it to kick in at 4k instead of 5k, because you won't notice any difference in power

i think there is a point at wich it does do some good. if you disabled this feature i think it wouldnt be as fast. i beleive that if you open it sooner rather than all the time you could gain just a little. if you could tell me where you found that info i would be interested in looking at it.

it was all posted over at www.b15sentra.net

I'm sure you could bring it up with a little bit of searching
