Complete Suspension job, Need Info on how to and what to use

I have a 94 Civic Dx. All the bushings are shot. I would like to get a stiffer suspension also. I would like the car to ride about 2 inchs lower. Any Ideas on what kits to get or use, best and worst? Price is not a factor. Thanks

Replacing the bushing is expensive if you have some one do it for you, do it yourself & its a pain. The bushings will make noise & also vibrate like hell, they are a great upgrade if you can deal with the results.

Check out H&R, Eibach, & Neuspeed springs --- Koni, KYB, or Tokico for shocks. If you want the good stuff(fully adjustable coilovers) go with H&R or Tein. Personally I dont recommend using any coilover sleeve type spring.

When it comes to springs, shocks, struts, coilovers - DO NOT try an be cheap, pay extra for quality or you will regret it in a few weeks after the install. The whole point to upgrading/lowering the suspension is to make handling better not worse. You also dont want a shit ass bouncy ride.

I found a kit on summitracing.com for a full bushing kit re-do sort to speak. It was around 120 w/o shipping. I am going to install that with my brother and his friend who are both mechanics, no problem there. I then would proceed on getting new shocks and coilovers. I had been looking at dropzone and have been hearing bad reviews. So i'll probably end up with tein or eibach. Would that be all I needed?

Like I said before, dont bother with coilover sleeves(drop zones) get the real thing like H&R. People say Ground Controls are decent, I just have heard/seen too many spring perches cracked due to junk ass sleeves.

Eibach Pro-kit w/ KYB AGX's is nice, & thats what I have on my 91 civic si. H&R Cup Kit is something to look into, nice spring/shock packaged & matched to work together, the only thing better is a matched adjustable coilover package. Also if your going lower then 1" I suggest upgrading the shocks. With the adjustable coilovers you will need a camber kit, also if dropping more than 2" a camber is needed. Really should be added with a .5" drop since there is NO camber adjustment.

I prefer H&R over Tein, for 1 thing H&R is German. Thats says enough alone.

I just want to do this right. I have heard alot of exactly what you said from my brother. Just wanted to make sure. He is a nissan sentra spec v driver, you never know these days....tryin to get an edge on me that joker.....

It's kind of strange for you to say that all your bushings are shot. Cars can go with stock OEM rubber suspension bushings for a very long time with the exception of the upper strut mount bushings that should be replaced when struts are replaced. Of course, they will feel soft if you are a hard driver.

If you really don't plan on adjusting ride height, you really don't need to go with H&R coilovers even if you have the money to afford them. That's like for people who are seriously into track racing (street racing is not track racing). Go with either KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina adjustable struts and get a spring set (don't get adjustable height spring kits) with the decrease in ride height you desire.

I agree, you will never use coilovers for what they are designed for on the street. How often do you really need to adjust on the street? Not too many times - unless your a weekend autoxer. Adjustable shocks are very nice even for street only driving.
