who cares. if dorikin has an opinion about something, its HIS opinion, and its still not gonna change the fact that the 3s-gte MAY be a good engine for the s chassis.

there is a guy with a 20b from a eunos roadster in a datsun 510, with Jaguar half-shafts comin out the diff which he grabbed from another car (forget which one).

so just cause dorikin or anyone else may have an opinion on what engines should go in which cars, does that mean this guy is gonna follow suit and rip the engine out, in hope of appealing to people who despise cross-company swaps??

NO. i think not. not with the amount of work it took to turn that car into the beast it is.

If plenty of automakers can make good car components, and they are able to work with eachother through fabrication and machining/engineering, then why not get ur creative juice flowing and create something that you can seriously call YOUR OWN.

im all for a 3s-gte, a JZ, a 20b, or ANYTHING that can compare to these engines, and if they fit nicely in the s chassis, and they work wonders.. +1 to that.!

A 2JZ seems like a better idea if you're into a custom fab job. 3.0L, I6, and it's known for it's reliability and bullet-proof quality. 3S is a good engine and it can be used in a FR layout...JGTC supra (as I've said before) uses one and it's FR. There were other 3S engine layouts too...celica had one and I believe a few other cars...maybe some FRs in japan. Doesn't the new Lexus whatever...RS200 or something (Toyota Altezza in Japan) use a 3S? That's FR...I'm not sure if it does use a 3S though...

Anyhow I like the 3S better than the SR...the knock limiter is badass...something the SR never had, but also doesn't need as much. As long as you aren't sticking a unreliable POS engine in the 240 I don't care who makes it really...I'm just against V8s and crap...I think they ruin the whole purpose of the car.

the mr2 motor is a fwd type specimen in the us though. And just about any imported are for it as well because tahts the only car people swap that motor in. Yes it did come in the Altezza too, but those aren't imported much, pple with a IS300 already have the Supra motor variant, which I would take any day of the week over a 3sg.....

I think a rotary would be cool in a 240sx, specially a 3 rotor NA buildup

I also think the new RB25DE from the r34 would be a cool swap!

or a good ole SOHC lmao! ya ya don't laugh many people drive those SOHC's hard at tracks and mountains. I think the DOHC has the ability to flow more air, but the SOHC is a cheaper and well worn path to internal upgrades. The DOHC has oil squirting pistons on the other hand, if you want a turbo application its a better engine I think.

some people forget, Id like to beat it into them. I think engine swaps are pointless in most cars. THE KA's have TONS of potential.... instead of spending 5k to get your SR swapped in, spend 5k ona KA and see what you get.....

rb25 is r33. u use the rb25 tranny on a rb26 cause its rwd, and u stick it on the 240. the r34 tranny is awd, so it would take some mad suspension engineering to have a awd s chassis.

although im am fully ok with engine swaps, i couldnt agree with you more. BUT.. yes, there is a but. putting in an SR takes out the guesswork in having to "see what you get", cause its well known for keepin its high revs throughout turns and such , whereas a ka will die passed 5000 rpm. even turboed, it just makes power up until there (or in that range)... which is good for drag, but some heavy duty lightweight internals will change that, which, in turn, cost as much as a sr20 swap. so... in essence, its down to choice. what u wanna do with ur engine, and how much money it will cost and how will it compare to other swaps.

THIS is why i dont mind cross-company swaps.

you ever seen a dyno chart of a KA it makes way more torque then most SR! lol. at all rpms

I could see swapping ina v8 to a Ford Festiva, thats worth an engine swap if u have a pos like that, but KA is a race engine believe it or not lol, cams will change the top end tendancies....

There was a special version of the R34, forget exactly what its called, but it came with a RB25DE naturally aspirated engine in RWD form that put out 250hp I think. This would be a cool swap if you wanted 250hp or so, naturally aspirated reliability.......

*edit*
its got 200ps, still fairly decent, 50hp increase over DOHC

its called the GT-V
