Anybody have any ideas how to get Isuzu to cover a seized engine under warranty? dealer wants $500 to drop pan & maybe it will be covered. 56k on truck, 60k warranty. Thanks

So long as you followed the manufacturer specified maintenance & have (some) receipts to prove so, there should be no question at all & no "diagnostic" fees from the dealer. The dealer has to prove you were neglegent to deny a warranty claim. Are you the second owner w/ 5yrs/60Kmi warranty? What year/engine?? SORRY To hear about this

I am the original owner. 1999 3.2 v6. bought from dealer i'm trying to get it repaired at. do all my own work, unless it's covered under warranty. Isuzu HQ in CA backs dealer in that i have to pay and maybe it will be covered.

Yep. Unfortunatley this looks to be common with these manufacturer powertrain warranties. The warranty will cover the labor & associated parts, but they still sock you with diagnostic fees. Some dealers will be nice and sometimes absorb these costs, but most dont. Hopefully you have some maintenance receipts. If the engine seized due to low/no oil, they should cover it by saying you had a catastrophic rear main seal failure while you were driving (causing all oil loss). I've seen reports where this happened to other 3.2/3.5 owners. G/luck
