Best performance mod
I've got a friend with a 1997 Integra coupe. We are interested in doing some performance mod's to it, but he is on a tight budget. Whats the best mod or mods for the buck for performace?
I had considered an ECU, but after seeing the prices I changed my idea. |

What's does "tight budget" mean? $100? $200? $500? Also it depends on if he wants NA or FI?

Budgets still not defined, but probably in the $500 range, maybe a lil more or less. As for NA or FI, it all really depends on what the options are and what the prices are.
Sorry about the lack of details, things are still sort of up in the air and details have yet to be worked out. |

well for $500, you could get a nice nitrous setup. That is about the only thing that is going to increase your power quite a bit. You could waste your money on I/H/E but in the longrun, it wouldnt be worth it.

Nah, not nitrous. Shoulda said that.
Something just to give it a boost from what it is, but a constant one. Would exhaust and cold air intake do much for it? |

um...put the $500 in a bank acount. wait till it multiplies by 4 and then turbo. you should be able to get a pretty solid turbo setup for $1500-2000. im getting mine for $1100. $450 for hondata. $310 for clutch. $500(?) for exhaust. turbo costs a lot of money but the most bang for your buck by far.

But I really don't like it and, uh, I'm not gonna go. Joanna: So you're gonna quit? Peter Gibbons: Uh-uh. Not really. I'm just gonna stop going. Joanna: When did you decide all that? Peter Gibbons: About an hour ago. Joanna: So you're going to get another job? Peter Gibbons: I don't think I'll like another job. Joanna: Well what are you going to do about money? Bills? Peter Gibbons: You know I never really liked paying bills, I don't think I'm going to do that either |

Any other ideas? We really don't want to turn it into a superturner, or any of the problems that go with it, we just want it to get a little bit more power.

if u wanna go the usual route, then its of course i/h/e. on a side note though, i do agree with billabong about saving ur money then swap in a turbo. with $500, u can either get a cold air intake and header, or a full cat back exhaust system if u search around the net for specials. with these bolt ons u'll free up some hp, but don't expect it to turn ur ride into a 13 sec car.
hey billabong what turbo kit are u getting? it sounds too good to be true.
