New to a Century and this board

Hello all.

I'm in the process of inheriting a 91 Century 2Dr with 43000 ORIGINAL miles, driven by my aunt. She's moving out of the country and I'm in the process of selling my beloved 2002 WRX. I was in the market more for the likes of a Integra or Civic, (or my dream another MR2 Turbo!) but a free car is a free car.

So i'm going to be getting the car in about 6 weeks, after she sells her condo and packs up. I know that the car has had recent maintenance done, I believe she had all the radiator hoses replaced and has new tires.

Now here are some questions for you guys, I saw on www.nopi.com that they have a bunch of KYB struts and strut mouns and boots. Do any of you know if these are mearly an OEM replacement type or true "performance" type of strut (and I throw the term performance out very loosely). I saw no strut tower bars. Now, I haven't seen or driven the car, so I can't comment on it's handling ability, but I'm suspecting a very "floaty" ride quality with tons of body roll. I'd like to reduce these as much as possible without spending a ton of money.

Can I get sway bars for the car? the strut tower braces as mentioned above, do they exist? Do parts from other GM cars fit? What's the closest cousin to the Century in the massive GM lineup? I'm a die hard import guy (owned 5 toyota's, a mitsubishi, a subaru, and a camaro back in the day).

Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated. I'm going out to see my aunt and help her pack in 10 days, so I'll take some pics of the car and post them here, along with a review of the car and what I think. I'm assuming that a drop in K & N filter is available, right?

Oh, and last question, are there any other buck performance type forums out there that you guys know about? I found this with a quick google search.

thanks all and I'll be seeing you guys more often!

Welcome to AF and the Buick forums!

First- performance- http://www.gmperformanceparts.com or your favorite GM dealer

Second- The century is kin to the Buick regal, Chevy Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand prix. Suspensions should be completly swapable

The car has sway bars, but I'm sure you can buy stiffer ones, maybe transplant one from a GP

There are Buick forums elsewhere, but these are the best.
