Trouble in the family
ok, so me and my sister have neons.. (i have 1997, she has 1998) and she randomly brought to my attention that her speedometer sometimes doesnt work and that her airbag light comes on at random intervals
 .i was just wondering if any of u neon gurus out there had any insight into this... thanks

I would take it in and get it checked out. Hopefully there is not a short in the system..I would be worried about the airbag going off while she is driving. There was a recall on some Neons several years ago for the airbag. As for the speedo not working, it could either be an issues with the gauge cluster or a chance that the speed sensor may be going out.

I'm with Kat on the airbag, but I'll bet the speedo will work after you clean the connection at the back of the gauge cluster. That connection gets screwed up far more than the speed sensor does.

Does your sisters car have cruise control? If so..does it cut out when the Air Bag light is on? If so, then your problem is most likely the clock spring underneath the air bag. Have it checked out! BTW even if she doesn't have cruise control..it still could be the clock spring, it is just another symptom.
