Biggest misconception EVER Vortech blower will do piss-all for the lowend of your car, and that's being nice. I'll make you a little graph to show you what I mean. Vortech makes boost proportionally to RPM. You arn't making full boost till right at redline. Your average Fmax turbo kit will probably make full boost at around 3500 RPM's and hold it till redline. Ever seen a vortech Si dyno sheet? Torque and horsepower both look like a straight diagonal line. Torque peak is way high up, like near redline way high up. My graph is just an approximation, but see all that are where the turbo has full boost and the vortech doesn't? Boost = more torque. More boost down low = more down low, daily driving torque.

I think if I'm going to go FI with this car I'll get the Vortech SC. SCC dyno'd an Si with I/H/E with the Vortech and it hit 272hp at the wheels, plus the Si lacks in low-end and a SC would make it a more enjoyable ride for the daily driver IMO.
Actually the vortech lacks low end and has good high end. If your looking for good low end power, go with the JRSC. Me personally, if I was going to go with a vortech, i would have gone with a turbo instead. But the vortech is an awesome sc.

it is actually 272 crank...........please don't argue about it because this issue has been argued on superhonda and club si for a long time.......and don't waste your money on the vortech......it is a centrifical supercharger which basically means it acts like a turbo...........the vortech sc makes all that hp around 74-7600 rpms, and doesn't get any real gains till around 48-5200 rpms........the JRSC is a better choice it starts making real power right away......Rev Hard Stage 2 Turbo also good choice........or just build a turbo set up...........and remember boost is boost.........SC or Turboed......just that the vortech isn't worth the $$

I won't argue it, I believe you. I wasn't exactly sure on that fact either (272 whp is far too high.) Also after thinking about the money factor per power gain....I will prob go with a custom turbo setup, local shop said they'd put me in a custom turbo setup with my choice of turbo for about $3500 installed so that seems to be my best route. Thanks everyone that replied its been a great help.

sorry wasn't trying to be dick or nothing.....but that damn hp issue had like 30+ pages once........grrrrrrrr .........yeah resleeve, itr cams, itr valves, springs and retainers and boost, lighter flywheel, clutch, hondata,skunk2 cam gears good tuning and you should be anywhere between 350-375hp you should be able to do that for under 8k.....some guys might be able to do it for less
