69 Chevelle 4dr

What can I expect to pay for a 4 door 69 chevelle. It has an inline 6 that runs good. It needs a paint job, and it has a small exhaust leak.

The reason I ask is because my buddy is selling his to me for about 1500. I just wanted to make sure that was a good deal, even though I am going ot buy it anyways.

Thanks
Luckybob

There is no such thing as a 4-door Chevelle. It is a Malibu... The Chevelle was an option of the Malibu which only came with 2 door. For a 4-door Malibu you would get about $10 grand, if the car is in near perfect shape. Check www.collectorcartraderonline.com to see what they are going for.

thats funny, last i checked the Chevelle and the Malibu we're the same car, minus a few items of badging and a better interior

through most years, there was

Chevelle 300, which had 2dr and 4dr Sedans

Chevelle Malibu, which had 2dr and 4dr Hardtops, and 4door Sedans

Chevelle SS, 2dr Hardtop only, plus the only cars originally equipped with big blocks (and only big blocks)

i'd say your buddy should lower the price for ya, i bought a car pretty similar to your situation.

It was a '66 Chevelle Malibu 4door Sedan, 283 V8, modest interior, old crappy paint, and an exhaust leak. i bought it for $950. the engine was rebuilt, and it had a new TH350 transmission. i fixed the exhaust leak by changing the doughnut gaskets in the manifolds. Car is still running great today, after 2 1/2 years. i think i got a great deal. tell ur bud $1000 and tell him you'll take car of it =)
