Help me choose between these 2.
Okay, I'm looking into getting a used car for about 15-16k. I've found a local 2001 mustang gt with premium package and 7900 miles for just over 16k. Everyone I've talked too says this is a killer deal and gt is definetly a car I like. On the other hand, right now I'm driving an Acura cl 3.0. I've been really impressed with the reliability and overall quality of this car. Thus I've also been looking into an rsx type s.Unfortunately the 2002 is a rare used model at this moment and if I got that I may have to wait a few months. I'm pretty much car retarded as far as repairs go and I don't plan on doing any major mods for either car. Help me debate the merits of these two cars, I'm absolutely drooling at the thought of the v8, but reliability with fords is an issue in the back of my head. I love the type s interior design, quality materials, and high reving engine. Please post any thoughts, information on either car to help me choose.

the mustang is a lot cooler, has more utility and the mustang isn't an unreliable car at all really. fords suv line is what makes the brand so unreliable. The acura will have better gas milage - but i find the rsx to be pretty ugly. although the 3.0 cl is pretty tight, why are you getting a change?

Got the money so I figure why not. The cl has 125k miles on it and it's been a great car but I figure time for something newer and can't afford a new cl so gotta go for something a little less expensive.

Thats a hard decision. My friend has a type s and it is great. I like the interior a lot and i also like how the exterior looks. If you do want power i would go with stang. If u live in an area where it snows a lot, the type s would probably be better but I think you can accually get traction control with the stang.

Thanks to both of you for the comments. I've pretty much decided to go with the type-s. It doesn't snow alot in Richmond but enough to make rear wheel drive a serious pain especially for a college senior trying to make it to class and graduate. Also figured after being with the same girl for four years cool factor is not as important as it was at 18 or 19. Reliability and overall presentation are bigger factors and I felt acura was head and shoulders above the gt in that regard. Now I just gotta find one in my budget.

hehehehe great choice rwolfcastle80. The mustang has power and looks but that's about it. When it comes to performance and reliability the type s is rated way up there. It's also a fun car to drive by the way even if it doesn't have as much power as the mustang. Anyway enjoy your new ride when you get it man.
All due respect...
