conversion
i am still looking to get a 240 and i was wondering how hard it would be if i got a 95 and wanted to convert it to a 97-98 or to a s15. would both of these conversions line up perfectly without drilling extra holes or what. also if i went with the s15 conversion could i have a 97 front bumper (bodykit). i know that i would need the hood, fenders, and headlights for it to fit. any help would be nice.

its called an s14.5
you'd have to buy a whole front clip off a s15, or the car then dismantle it, and then do some custom work to make it fit. if you don't want to do it yourself it will probably cost about $6000. then you'll need at least a $2000 paint job to make it all match.

Not to take sides, but in blade's defense... The point is that's what HE wants for HIS car. That my friend, is the point.

if you don't have the car yet and you wanna put one generation 240 front on another i think the best looking combo is the sil15-80 (s15 front on an s13 hatch). then use the jdm 180sx tail lights. thats just my opinion. or you could just use that money to make the car faster.

The easiest conversion would be to make a 95/96 into a 97/98. The only parts you need: hood, grill, headlights, foglights (optional), front quarter-panels, bumper, and bumper liner (optional though the stock liner won't fit as well). I think that completes the conversion. I would also reccomend a chin spoiler which came stock on the japanese s14 koukis. It's just a little piece that adds a lot to the look of the car for not much money (60 or less I believe). You may also want to invest in kouki brake light lense, but it isn't that much different than stock. Also if you get a color that the conversion parts share with your cars color then you won't have to repaint the car if you do it carefully.
S15 front conversion would require more work and would cost more. It would look really nice and it would be a little more unique (you don't see a lot of 240sx's anyway so who cares). I think you should forget the s14.5 conversion and just get a 97/98 240 or convert the front of a 95/96. Whatever you choose to do, just make sure you take your time and if it's done right it will look great no matter what you do.

hmm...whenever i've heard it before, and in my vocabulary, S14.5 refers to the shark-eye S14. S14.5 because it was redesigned halfway through the model run (.5 being half). that's just what i've heard before. S14's with S15 front ends are 1415's or 1514's in my book. *shrugs*
as for the conversion, do up the engine before considering anything cosmetic. if you're building a show-car, then i'll leave you be right here because i want no part in a 240SX show car. but if you just want to bolster your car's looks, i'd always say do up the engine first and then put some looks in front of it. what's a pretty face if it can't perform? i'd personally say go for the Kouki conversion. i totally do not see the point behind S14/S15 conversions. your car isn't nor will it ever be an S15. be proud that you own an S14, and floss that instead of some fakie S15. i personally like the slant-eye S14 look better then the S15 look anyways, even though i'd probably take an S15 over an S14. whatever man, it's your money, it's your choice, but that's just my view on it. and anyone who says "hey man, don't beat up on him. it's his car". i know that. but this is a public message board. you'd better expect some negative comments, disagreements etc. when you post something, or else you're not going to have much fun on web-boards.

dude why convert? just buy the freaking style you want, and why put an s15 front on an s13? doesn't look that great, especially for how much it will cost you, if you want the s15 front buy an s14, cuz then it looks almost the same as a real s15, but either way you do it your wasting your money unless you can run atleast a flat 14 on the strip, or if its for drifting atleast have an SR swap done, or turbo the KA or whichever method you may choose. but I'm rambling so I'm gonna stop before I make everyone mad

i thank you all for that. i know what i am going to do to the car. it is going to be a show/street car. i personally like the 97-98 style, so that is most likely the one that i am going to do or get. thanks again.
