My Micra wont start.. any ideas??
Hi There people,
I was hoping someone will be able to give me a few pointers to identify the problem with my 1989 Micra. For the last 2 days i have noticed that the starter motor wasn't ticking over very quickly when i went to start the car. But today it wont start at all, it turns over about once or twice, but very slowly, then gives up trying to start.. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me how i can identify what is wrong, is it the battery? - its very old (but the lights are still working) It could be the starter motor (as it sounds as if it is struggling to turn over) Any how, I don't know too much about cars, but I can't afford to get someone to have a look at it. It would be great if anyone could tell me how to tell what may be wrong with it... cheers Steve |

It does sound like it's either the battery r the starter. to check which one - easily - either borrow a friend's battery, one that is surely working, or try starting the car with jumper cables.
