Hi
The AXOD-E Transaxle in my 1992 Ford Taurus failed. It has a 3.8 ltr V-6. I had a wrecked 1992 Ford Taurus with a low mileage 3.0 ltr V-6. I changed the transaxles. Now I am having shift problems. I used the speed censer and neutral switch from the 3.8 on the 3.0 transaxle rather than change the plugs which were different. All other electrical plugs were the same. I am accelerating to 40 MPH and the trans downshifts and at 30 MPH it upshifts again. Has anyone ever changed a 3.8 ltr transaxle for one out of a 3.0 ltr? If so, what problems did you have?\ The 3.0 trans was working perfectly when the car was wrecked. Thanks for the help. |

ive done two change overs. and have had the same problem, but the two top plugs were different from a 3.0 than a 3.8. maybe it's one of fords greater computer engineering ideas. good luck
