From my experience (which is quite limited) i say you mix and match. Use JL 10W7 subs and a Fosgate amp. I used to have JL 10W6s and they were incredible, and I have a Fosgate amp now and it puts out great power. I love them both.

However, I do like them both very much but they are not the best out there.

If I had the 4k to spend believe me I would, but I am a broke ass college student. Anyway for now I am fine with my shit. I wish I had the W7's but I am poor right now.
Anyways are your W7s 10s, 12s, 15s????

What kind of car are they in?
And what kind of box are they in?
What head unit do you have?

A friend of mine just got a 12 W3 (he drives a rice rocket) and it still sounds pretty damn nice.

Also I went to school this summer, so I didn't make any money. Damn being poor. I wish I could have worked all summer so I could have either a new car, or some W7's

i have the alpine cda-7897 head unit which i am really proud of and i spent big bucks on it. it is in a chevy cavilier now i am workin on plans for my z71 for a custom box. in the cavilier they are in the box they came with from pacific sound. i am not positive on the cubic foot they are. i feel sorry for you but at least you got a system and i hope someday you will get to enjoy some w7's

dude you don't have to spend 4k to get good sound, my entire system cost around 1300 and it wipes the floor with every other system I've heard in SQ and SPL. I have a single 12 that dwarfs my friend's 2 12" jl w3's. I have a Pioneer Premier 750 headunit, Kappa components up front, Kappa coax in back, US Acoustics 85x4 amp, eDesigns 12A, and Avionixx 800.2. It doesn't suck much power, didn't cost too much, and it sounds downright amazing. 2 w7's is overkill, you'll never be able to listen to their true potential while still in your car so what's the point? The single 12 I have now hurts my ears when I turn it up all the way and it still sounds perfectly clear.
