Yes...Toyota is saying that they'll be on sale nationwide by next summer with a third model being added to the lineup.

Besides engines...they're entirely Toyota. In Japan, the xA is the "ist" and the xB is the "Bb".

Trust you? The Saturn ION has nothing to do with the Vitz, Yaris, or Echo.

I'm telling you that the ION and the NBC cars (Vitz, Echo, Yaris) are not related, not because some magazine or website said so...but because it's a fact.

The Saturn ION was developed by General Motors and is based on their all-new Delta platform. The ION is the first of a group of products to be based on Delta which will include the Chevrolet Cobalt (replacement for the Cavalier), the Pontiac Pursuit (Canadian version of the Cobalt), and Opel/Vauxhall Astra.

The Yaris/Vitz/Echo were developed by Toyota and are based on the NBC platform. NBC cars are substantially smaller than the unrelated Delta cars and share no parts between them.

I'm not trying to flame anyone. I'm trying to educate.

That article says the ION's interior is LIKE the Echo...doesn't say it comes from the Echo. If it did, then wouldn't his "prove" that the Echo, ION, and BMW Z8 are all the same?

Again, the Yaris/Vitz/Echo don't share ANY substantial parts with ION, and this includes interior appointments.

I'm just saying this because it's my job to study cars and their development, among other automotive related topics. The ION and NBC cars are not related at all.
