the w41 was extremely rare, it was a 190 hp and 180 tq, real beast of a 4 banger.

the regular 2.3 showed up in alot more than just the 95 z24, but they are all kinda hard to find.

the w41 engine featured in the j-body cars in 95, is 150 or so, the w41 in earlier years was considered a high output engine with 185 or 190 hp depending on what year it was, me personally, im going to be dropping a 190hp 2.3 in my sunfire in the near future and the ill be boosting that to about 8 maybe 10 psi

W41 was just a merchandising option from 91 through 93 for the H.O. Quad I think the engine RPO was LGO. They put them in Grand AMs but not the Cavys.

Ok, just a little fixing up here.
W41's were not used in Grand Ams, they were found in Oldsmobiles only
from 1990-1993. You find them in 90-91 442 Calais, 1992-93 Acheiva. If you did a lil research you would find the Quad 4 is an Olds engine not a pontiac or chevy engine. If you find one of these I will come to your house and kill you in your sleep for it. The W41 is basically the King Quad. I have driven them and like that old pontiac slogan goes "Driving Excitement"

Another point, the W41 cams you cannot just drop in a 95 Cav. The older style cams use a pulley to drive the power steering pump and the new 95+ style uses a gear to drive the ps pump. You would have to swap the whole head and ecu to use those cams and also you would need the ecu with memcal. you cannot use the HO memcal to run those cams.
(I have a 90 Beretta GTZ and am running W41 Grind 2 cams. They have a .240 lift versus .220 stock W41. And I cant even run with the stock W41 memcal. )

Same goes for the Old HO motors. running a turbo or sc in any High Output Quad is ludacrous. They have such high compression they would basically detonate themselves useless. Use the LO Quad w/HO Head and cams for boost...

I am also starting on an Ecotec project right now. I have a 2.2/5spd from an 02 Cav Z24. That I am putting into my 92 Beretta GTZ.
And I have also put a 3400 from an 00 Alero into my 96 Beretta Z26.

If you guys need anymore schooling from a girl let me know. I'll learn ya'.

I can also get all parts for swapping an HO Quad into your cav. from harness/ecu/motor/trans.

added: the rpo for W41 is W41, and the rpo for HO Quad is LGO...

I'm 22 and taken sorry,

More added, the w41 is more than a slogan, its a different geared tranny still a 3.94 but with better 2nd, 3rd, and more aggressive 5th, higher duration cams, suspension, 140mph cluster, brakes (on the calais) basically a really sweet car.

And LGO may show up on a W41 car's rpo label because it does use an HO block, head, manifolds, A factory tuned HO Quad in a nutshell. Its basically the WS6 you may find on todays Trans Am's for those who still dont understand what I'm talking about.

Ok I agree with just about everything you said except for the last. The W41 was just a Olds merchandising option it is built off of the base LGO engine. The LGO is used in chevy, olds and pontiac.

Oh one other thing are you positive they were used in 90 calais? I don't have any listing for a W41 option cams for year 1990 only Years 91-94.
My information is directly from General Motors, but I really did not put much effort into research.

Opps didn't read all of your last post.

Agree completely... this was all I was getting at in my post about option codes and merchandising codes.
