benefits of the JDM 180sx engine over 200sx?
Just wondering the differences. Was the 180sx designed more for drifting and therefore they used a smaller engine as to decrease turbo spool up? Just wondering, I noticed that CA18DET or whatever it's called isn't nearly as popular as the SR20DET, but I guess that could just be availability or parts support in the US more than one being better than the other.

the 180's also came with SR's later on in the years. the Ca is a great engine just harder to find parts for. no engine was "designed" for drifting...it just kinda happened.

SRs just took off cuz everyone made them out to be "mad tyte". Although it is a good engine.
Works Yamaguchi in Indianapolis is HIGHLY knowledgable in the CA18DET, in fact, on of the proprietors grew up in Japan and owned and tuned a Silvia K's with a CA18DET for a number of years. They offer excellent prices on excellent motors, and each motor/install comes with a stage one upgrade(basic boltons and injectors). I dont work for them, however I know from talking to one of the guys they are an excellent shop. In fact, I belive the moderator, S13_Iketani will be going to them when he gets his swap done. www.worksyamaguchi.com
