Not finishing a piant job, is like doing a shitty motor swap.

It's nice to see a custom color on a car, until you pop the hood. Its kind of a let down, in my opinion.

Who cares? Its under the hood where its all business. Your car most likley isn't a show car, I personally wouldn't waste the time, money, and effort to paint inside the engine bay.

Do you degrease your motor, clean your engine bay? If so why?

Obviously some people care. Thats why he asked, and thats why we all give our opinions.

Nope. Why? It doesn't really matter to me.. Its under my hood, as long as everything works I don't see why have it clean. My car is a car and I treat it as such, if it gets dirty under the hood its no big deal to me, its under the hood where only certain people get to see anyway..

Pride? I like my stuff to be neat, and squared away.

But hey, keep up the dirty work, someone has to do it.

My engine has a couple of leaks around the tranny.. Its kinda hard to keep up with how fast it can get dirty, so I don't see why bother.

I don't care about people seeing what I have under my hood either.. My car isn't a sleepAr, or a show car. I just do mods so I can can enjoy them, and thats my car that I enjoy. I'm just sharing how messy mine is because it doesn't matter.

I can't put over keeping an engine bay clean enough. I keep the engine bays of both of my cars just a step below "clean enough to eat off of." People who don't know jack about cars, or even care to know jack about them, are still very impressed when I pop the hood of either car. And of course, it is amazing how much less "greased up" you get from diong anything from checking your spark plugs to replacing a head gasket. And it really isn't that hard to do. Unless you drive on dusty or muddy roads frequently, a good spray down two or thee times a year is about all it takes. It is worth the effort of keeping them clean in so many ways, as far as I am concerned, besides the cosmetic issue.

I clean my engine bay both for show and practicality. I like messing around with the engine, and it makes it so much easier/fun to mess with the engine when it's clean.
