5000 RPM Fuel Cut

Some Information and a Question.

Thought U guys might be able to use this info seeing as no one knows of it on this board

If U suddenly get a fuel cut off at 5000 RPMs its probably because ur 5th gear sensor is Toast. The 5th gear sensor acts as a backup to the speed governor. When you are in 5th it engauges the 5000rpm rev limiter.

Try disconnecting it and it shouldwork fine. If that doesn't work then get back to us.

I think that might be my problem, But I have no idea where the 5th gear sensor is located, or what it looks like, anyone got more info or pix?

this is what i found

For a SOHC (not sure if its the same for DE) there are 3 sensors on the passenger side of the tranny, the one more in the middle is the one you are trying to disconnect. Make sure you unplug it and dont cut it just in case. Check your ECU for codes if this doesnt fix your problem.

I looked, but I have no idea wtf he is talking about?
