Italian Job for all three consloes, rent it or find it on sale

Just spent the afternoon playing Italian Job. I completed the Story Mode and made it through most of the stunt levels. I cannot say I am impressed. This is another lemon from Eidos. I have lost faith in their games.

The driving physics are okay and the graphics look dated. The cars show no damage regardless of how you drive. There is an anti-roller physic built in that gets really stupid at times. To get your car to flip over you have to fall of some place high or get hit just right by another vehicle.

It seemed stupid to me that you can knock cars into walls and hit lots of small items, but if you hit a glass window, it is like a brick wall. GTA Vice City allowed cars to drive through some windows.

Another issue is your car can get stuck. The game AI does not acknowledge when you get stuck. Once your car is hung up on something, it is over, but the game waits until time runs out. You would be amazed at how easy it is to get stuck.

The enemy AI is okay. Sometimes they use the mindless bonzai attack. The boss car at the end is the best one to play against, but it is only okay.

If this game had been released two years ago, it would have been considered a respectable game. When you look at the driving games that are out there now, this one slightly below average. It feels like the game was rushed to market and not finished.

If you find it for under $20 or rent it you should be happy. If you paid $40 or more for it, then you may feel you got ripped off.

I completed 80% of the game in one afternoon. The replay value is not high on this game.

If you thought Driver or Driver 2 was the best, this might be the game for.

Yeah, I think there is just something about games that are made from movies sucking. Not all do, there are those rare ones that are actually half way decent, but usually, if it's an adaptation from a movie, it's going to be kinda gay.
