Exclamation Tips on doing a full detail on black 99 car?

Just got a new car and need some help with detailing it. I have tried to be a good detailer before but have only had a little experience. I was curious how I should

prep
polish seal wax

Umm a little background info might help...

have used a clay bar before... know how to wash a vehicle... though i wonder how MF washmits work compared to regular ones I would think they would be safer for scrapes in paint and clean better?

uhhhh all the prep experience I have had is with clay bar so far.. maybe you guy's could tell me more. maybe help me learn some stuff about engine detailing and interior detailing.....

used a rotary buffer about 15 times max... had some good results... most bad... swirls.. marring...... had a crappy one though and sucky pads.....

I guess I really don't know... anyone want to take a stab at this one?

never mind I got an amazing link called properautocare.com and it explains pretty much everything for me...

Wash it down with dawn dish soap to remove previous waxes. Dry well.

Place car inside garage or out of direct sunlight.

Get quality car polish (I recommend Meguiar's #7 Showcar Glaze). Apply with clean 100% cotton terry cloth towel, or Meguiar's sponge applicator.

Do not let polish dry, do small sections of panels at a time and buff off with terry cotton towel.

Once all polished, begin applying high quality waX (Meguiar's Gold Class, liquid or paste, your choice).

Let wax dry for 30 min.

Come back, buff off with 100% clean terry cotton towel.

Enjoy.

if looking for a good wax the best one i have used thus far is called Enhancer and it is made by the malco company, though it is only supplied through detail shops or possibly at the parts counter of a local car shop/dealership(i work at one so thats how i got it). It has never left streaks and has great results, not to mention it lasts for a decent amount of time.
