opinions?

Ok so I have been trying to figure out what to do... I have a bright red 94 civic coupe. It was in a pretty serious hail storm and has a lot of miles on it. This has led to the hood having lots of hail dents and rock chips on it. Believe it or not the rest of the car made it through the storm with little or no other hail dents and other than the paint being faded due to age the body is almost totally straight.

Here's what I am after opinions on. I want to do something about the hood as it is pretty ugly when you are looking at it from anything less than 10-15 feet because of the dents/chips. (by far the ugliest part of the car) I was thinking about fixing all of the dents then sanding down the rock chips and painting the hood flat black. The flat black will be a temporary thing only. I would paint it red to match the car but as I said the rest of the car is somewhat faded and the new paint would never match. Maybe next summer I will take the time, effort, and money to get the car repainted but until then I am thinking the idea I just described would be better than how it is now. What do you guys think?

Also, currently the wheels I have are factory powdercoated Motegi white... I am considering stripping them and having them repowdercoated in black. Any thoughts?

Not sure about the black idea. Can't you see if any breakers yards have any busted red civics around so you can buy their hood.

I think even if the hood is a slightly different colour to the rest of the car I think I'd still go with the red as the temporary solution for now.

Maybe if you use a bit of T-Cut might get you a match.

I didn't think that would help with faded paint... except take the clear coat off maybe but that doesnt seem like a good idea...?
