I'm also having a MAJOR Electrical Problem right now. Are you sure of your sorce of the problem? Mine is the main alternator wire. It has a short and cannot relay a charge so everything in the car is running off the battery and drains it dead.

From experience, tearing out pannels to find and fix a short is not fun, or easy. I would reccomend taking it to the shop if you have never messed w/the electrical system before. If you have and feel the need to fix it, Auto Zone has the repair manuals and they have all the electrical diagrams. The manual runs about 5$ USD

K_dog, sounds like you have a bad alternator, blown diodes or stuck regulator will cause that, wzubke, what year, model, engine, section,of celica wiring harness?

Nope checked that. The alternator is under warranty so I replaced it and it was fine. The alternator sends a charge, but the wire smokes and wont relay it. If I mess around with the wire, it'll send some more amps but goes right back down. The alternator is only 2 weeks old.

then replace the wire from alternator main post to battery + post, use at least an 8awg wire, 6 would be better, also check the ground at battery, body, and block

F**K that BS, It'll go to the shop. I don't do complex electrical systems. The wire goes about 20 different places in the car. And I'm tellin ya, I've checked all this, and we've located the short. It's a dellco style Alternator and takes the plug which is also bad.

for that new of a car stop by a dealership and talk to the service ppl, tell them your problem and they most likely will run a copy off their factory manual for you
