Domestic or Import?

Alright so this is what its come down to, either get a domestic or import
so domestic = generally more power for less (mustang, etc.) but its just another mustang.
or import= more looks (eclipse, integra, etc.) but EVERYBODY has one, what do you choose? looks, or performance. also, which is usually more reliable?
maintenance costs?
which is more expensive to insure?
problems (eclipse has crankwalk, etc.)
performance (eclipse is heavy) (mustang has 3 and 4 liter+, but how well does that translate into power?) i want a quick car that will last a year or two before having any problems which require large amounts of work and money. engine rebuilds, transmissions, electrical. and one that i can make stand apart from your everyday tuner group but still be a refined looking car.

I will be upfront and say I am tired of hearing import vs domestic, especially on an international forum.

Perhaps you haven't realized that European cars are imports here as well. Lots of power and lots of looks. Maybe you should take a look in that directions.

while i didnt mention that in my post, it is in no way ruled out, and i have not limited my search. i have the utmost respect for european cars, as some of todays best are in fact from europe. however, i am trying to focus on cars the have many parts readily available for them, and european cars have a tendency to be a little pricey.
