The probe was an 89 turbo probe.
he was definately racing.. 2 days before driving through an industrial area i flashed my lights at him, so he came around and i killed him in the 240... Then the night with the probe he came through showing off his supercharger. and the kids there were all amazed (so was i, i didn't know it was sc'd) So i asked him about when i handed him his ass in the 240, and he played dumb, and wanted to show off and asked where it was, so i told him, home, and pointed at my beat-down (spray-painted, dented, mix-matched wheels, no interior) probe. so he made fun of it and started talking smack... i warned him that the 240 was the slowest car i had and asked if wanted to race starting at the light just in fron of the parking lot where we were, so all 200 people could watch him lose to the beat down probe. so we pulled out, and the probe killed him by about 5 car lengths by the time i shifted out of second gear... so then like an hour later he comes back. "oh my V-tech didn't kick in... and i was like so, i have a 12V with the same displacement and only running 4psi vs your 8-10 psi supercharged 16v with 120K less miles. I shouldn't have sold that probe... |

he probralby didn't have a super charger beucase they don't make super chargers for the SH model i believe. only for hte base model preludes. i would assume that is because of the active torque transter system that the car comes with cramps up the engine bay soo much that its hard to make a turbo or super charger kit for that car. plus if you kill him by 5 cars on first gear. so what? that just meant that he cna't drive the thing yet and he was spinning the hell out of his tires while you were alreayd gone. if you raced him for an actual 1/4 mile i can garantee you that he will blow your doors off as soon as he gets traction. super charged preludes are 13 second cars by the way. you can't judge a race only in first gear, esp if the car has that much power and is in the hands of an idiot driver. i hope i dind't come on soo strong. its jsut that i think its kinda dumb to judge a race only in first gear.
edit: i see that you decided on 3rd gear. its still alittle too early to tell who would win though. i mena he could've been gaining on you like crazy for all we know but you shut down early

ahhh you see you should've stated that you ran a 12.9 cuase its not very common that you see a first gen probe that can do 12.9 on the 1/4. i shall bow down to your almighty probe too. lolz trust me i'm not makin fun of you at all. i'm just very very surprised at your car and i shouldn't have underestimated it. i was aware that you told me that the car was worked but i dind't think it was THAT worked.

The night I i beat the prelude i was using the stock turbo with a boost controller so i was producing higher than stock boost levels.
my fastest run used a hybrid bluebird turbo. |
