Turbo or SC for me, which one?

Hey fellaz what's up,

I need yall to help me decide on which one to get:

SC for say Yea and why

Turbo say Go and why

One other question, does the use of an SC require a Compression Test before installation or is it just a recommended thing? I know on a Turbo it is required but I wasn't sure about an SC, can you help me?

I think that turbos are overall more reliable, and produce more power.

You have that backwards. A big turbo like a T66 will have more lag, but depending on tune, produce more top end power.

A smaller T3 or T3/4 hybrid will spool more quickly for lower RPM power, but not have as much top end.

Thanks fellaz but I'm probably going to go with the SC, also no one here seem to know if installation of an SC requires a Compression Test.

Anyone knows?

i would hope you would do it on both. forced induction causes more wear and tear on you internals that normal. i dont remember the numbers but if the compression is low now, it may burn up ur motor quicker. go turbo, lot of ppl that have posted on here with SC have complained. also there is a lot more ppl out there with turbo max's so you can trouble shoot and have ppl help you out wiht any problems you have

I'd really contemplate before getting an SC. Take into account reliability and changing those damn pulleys.......

Not only that but an SC (unless I'm mistaken) as aposed to a Turbo will kill gas milage, I dunno about you but I'd like to still go 350-400 miles on a tank of gas

ummmm...whether you go turbo or s/c, you WILL lose significant gas mileage, sorry

Thanks fellaz for all the input on this question, I was already well aware of the reliability issues concerning turbo vs sc and I believe that I'm going to go wtih a compression test just for the safety factor.

As far as mpg is concerned I'm not really worried about that, however I'm going to hold off on the SC for the time being because I want to see what, if any SC products are going to come out to make more of a choice than just Stealin product line.

They have an Aquamist SC/Turbo supposedly coming out the end of this month and I will wait for the full reliability/power reports before purchasing.
