New to European Cars can I get some help?

Ok yestarday I was driving down the highway in my aunts piss of shit Dodge Ram (Its ok now she just got a new VW Jetta) and I was just getting on the exit ramp when some guy in a 7 series came off the on ramp behind us , passed us and got back on the exit ramp we were on.

Now I've always liked the look of the late 80s early 90s 7 series and
5 series BMWs but when I saw the acceliration that this car had I almost shit myself. I never had a clue they had that kinda accel. cause no one around here is daring enough to show it.

So anyway since yestarday my new mission in life is to save up for one this summer or for the next year or so.

But what I need to know from ya'll is what do u thin is the best Late 80s too early 90s model 7 series, 5 series, or 3 series out there.

I want to know which one has best performance, and drives the best, but also has resonable gas millage.

But you have to remeber that I am only 17 and cant afford over $5000

If you've got a tight budget, I'd take a 3-series. Late 80-early 90's 5-series are cramped, and the luggage space is MINIMAL. If you want the 7-series you would have get an older model, or one with a high milage, so I'd prob. stick to the 3-series if you can get a 92 model or so (dunno which year they changed the model, but the previous one!)

Best 7 series

Try to find a Euro 745i vintage 1983-1987. You can easily pick one up for $5k. This is the e23 version that is turbocharged. They come up every once in a while on ebay. Check also roadfly.org. They are usually there for sale as well. Good luck.

Hope you're ready for that insurance quote!! A 17 year old driving a luxury european car with a turbo engine = $$$$$$ (expensive insurance rates!) Good luck.... I just recently purchased my 1994 740i and I love the power! Luckily I'm 35 yrs old also I get the marriage and multicar discounts... Thank Goodness!!!
