good chip for 98 prelude?

hi- i recently just bought a 98 prelude and am looking for a performance chip. i was wondering what kind of chip would be best, specifically one that gives more torque and more power at lower rpms or just an all around good chip. if anyone can help i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks

unfortunately, preludes are cursed with non-chippable ECU's. however what you can do is remove your ECU altogether, ship it out to a company called Jetchips, and they'll reprogram it for $300, good for about 12 to 15 additional hp. there are also standalone units from AEM and hondata, but unless you're heavily modified, those aren't necessary.

that blows- but i was just at a bunch of web sites that were advertising the Venom chip and they said it added 25% more HP to a prelude... this isnt true is it? also- other than inatke/exhaust/turbo/super/nitrious- what can i add to get major increases in HP/performance- thanks

other than the ihe, there are still quite a few things you can do to up performance. if youre going to keep it street driven, get stage2 cams w/new springs and retainers. im going to be getting the crower cams because they make a stage2 cam with a stock idle lobe. and in a couple months skunk2 is going to be putting out an intake manifold for the h22, get that along with a bigger tb. then get apex's vafc and cam gears and get it dyno tuned.

wow-what the hell does that all mean?

strodda- i guess i'm real new at this but what the hell does all that stuff mean??? that all went way over my head... if you could please explain to me what:
IHE means?
(stage 2) cams?
stock idle lobe?
intake minifold? is this the same as an air intake?
h22?
TB?
VACF?
dyno tuned?

im sorry i have so many questions but i dont know what this stuff is. also- if someone could give me price estimates for these modifications...thanks to everyone who can help.

.... deep breath....
IHE - Intake, Header, Exhaust... your basic bolt-ons
Stage 2 Cams - More aggressive than Stage 1 cams and valvetrain upgrade is required
Stock Idle Lobe - Will idle normally
Intake Manifold - Sure isn't the same thing as an intake
H22 - Honda's 2.2 Liter Dual Over Head Cam VTEC engine
TB - Throttle Body
VACF - Type of VTEC controller
Dyno Tuned - Engine tuned to make maximum horsepower on a dyno(measures wheel horsepower)
