LS rev limiter?
I'm not sure about my ls, but I just bought a 94 civic with a b18b engine in it and I raced my friend and I brought the revs to like 7 grand. I thought the rev limiter was at 6800. I'm nervous cause I'm afraid that if I miss a gear or something KABOOM. Anyone know anything about this or is it just my stock tach in inaccurate?
thanks |

7200 is fuel cutoff
6300 is peak HP so take it to about 6700-6900 and then shift |

It has full cutoff so u can't really make it go kaboom. Take it all the way. If you shit a little after peak hp, then u will be low (or not even) in the powerband anymore.

When im racing, I launch at about 1500 to keep spin to a minimum. and i shift just before 7 - to make sure i stay in its "power band", i hit the rev limiter once by accident and trust me u do not want to do this during a race, u will fall back (i belive it was about 7300)

Thats a K series engine, completely different.
The B18B1 has a fuel cutoff at 7200, it's not a rev limiter, it literally cuts fuel- making it go KABOOM! So my advice is to just shift before 7K, it will kep you right in the power band. Thats how I shift with my completely stock 2000 LS, and I beat a lot of other modded LS's cuz those punks don't know how to drive it. Hahaha |

I'm surprised that it didn't just grind. He probably forced it in after it grinded and pulled out the clutch really fast. Ok, so basically, if you can't drive a stick correctly, you shouldn't race. The video was totally funny! That guy was not a fob...that video was in china or something.:licker:
