Em, sorry about the cage... that blows. Maybe NISSAN would be a good next car. SR20DEs are awesome engines.

haha, no doubt. I still have a soft spot in me for those motors.

Tangie, the G20t models, did they come with SR20DET motors, or still just normal SR20DE motor? And is the SR20 in a G20 really that different than that of say like in a Nissan Silvia (180SX)? Just something I've wondered about...

The G20T models were touring, not turbo. I was starting to quote engine codes for the Silvia models, but I don't know them well enough. I know that one of the DETs fits right into the G20 and others have to modify the bay. I want to say the S14 (Bluebird) DET fits right in, but I definately wouldn't quote me on it.

Thanks for the clarification. Shows what I know about Infinitis.

Silvia's either came with CA18DET's (earlier S13 models) or SR20DE(T's) for the later models. Then the USDM 240SX's came with the KA24DE which is the same motor as in their trucks. Not as powerful, but a bit better torque which isn't at all a bad thing. I'm trying to remember, but the Bluebird was what car? The Primera and Primera GT were the JDM equivalent to the G20, correct?

Pulsar SSS, Sunny, Primera, Bluebird... All these dang SR20 powered cars. LOL!

If I ever get a Nissan, it will be one car and one car only. Skyline R34. Black. That is all.

I can never remember the other engine code for the 240sx... Makes me feel stupid. At least you knew it. Some of the 240sx's were powered with the SR20DE, though.

The Bluebird was the first car with the SR20DE engine. It was released only in Europe, IIRC. They released it in the late 80's as soon as the motor was developed. The Nissan Primera and Primera GT are the "overseas equivalents" to the G20, however, not all Primeras are 2.0L. Some came with what I believe is the GA20DE motor like the 1.6L Sentra. The Sentra SE-Rs up until most recently also had the SR20DE.

Tangie,

After I posted what I typed, I remembered not all Silvias were turbo'ed, LOL. But being up in the drift scene (not participating, but an avid fan of it now) I'm really learning a lot about Silvias and the SR20 motor and all that good stuff. Way back before I got my Civic, I for the LONGEST time wanted to get a '93 Sentra SE-R. Those were seriously the first true pocket rocket car of their kind in the US. Economy car shell, sports car like engine. '93 had the better appearance before they started restricting the engine a little in '94 I used to even know the good mods to get if I ever got one. a JWT ECU was most certainly going to be my first mod if I had gotten one. I forget the exact years, but i think '98-'01 was the run duration of the Sentra SE which also had the SR20DE in it. I guess people whined enough for them to bring back a Sentra with that motor in it, but unfortunately Nissan screwed that up by only making the SE a 4dr. model. Figures, huh? Just give the US a 50 state legal car with an RB26DE(T) motor in it, and the masses will never complain again.
