Im runnin' hot Can't figure out why

Im cruising along yesterday and i happen to see my check oil light come on.. Im like ahh shit. I check my oil and its mad low. So im like bet ill do an oil change tonight. on the way home i notice that my Temp guage is goin up. I usually stays about 1/4. Now its at about 1/2-3/4. i let the car sit overnight cause i thought that maybe the guage will go down after coolin off for a night but this morning the needle was still at 1/2 !! So im like what the fuck. Oil is good.. coolant is good. my fan works. What am i missin??

k how long did u let it sit ? if the engine was cold and the gauge still read 1/2, then your gauge is off. and when u first start yoru car the next morning and the gauge read 1/2, did u let it run alittle and see if it dropped ? because the gauge will read alittle bit less than what it was when u shut it off, so when u start it the next time, you gotta wait and see if the gauge drops. did u wait to see if it dropped or did u start it up real quick and see the gauge then quickly turned it off ? because if u did that then try start it up and wait and see if the gauge ddropped

try bleeding the coolant system if that isnt the problem and then check your thermostat for starters if it isnt the gauge problem
