Brake problem - 97 Quest

I have a 1997 Nissan Quest and I recently put in new front brake pads. There are two bolts holding on the calipers. I could get the top bolt all the way in like it was before but the bolt on the bottom wouldnt go in as far as it did before. Now there is a whinning noise when I turn left and a noise that sounds like a knock when I push the brakes.
Does any one know of what I can do?
Is there a certian order I have to put the bolts in or somehting?

Thanks
