Question on tearing into an Engine
Alright, I got a D16Z6 sitting in my garage that im planning on completely rebuilding, but the thing I need to know is if there are any special tools I'm gonna need when I start getting into the internals. Right now I have got the tranny off of the engine, along with the header, intake manifold, and today im gonna try and get the Head off the block. I'm planning on completely ripping this thing apart and putting it back together prepped for a turbo. I just need to know what tools I'm gonna need for all the internal stuff, because I know wrenches and sockets probably aren't gonna help much.

depends if u wanna do it the right way or the cheap way. the cheap way youll need a valve compressor, a ring compresssor, or spanner, i forget what its called. but if u wanna do it the right way, you need the honer thing to hone the block for new pistons and a valve grinder to make sure the vavle is seated properly. umm thats all i can think of right now

its gonna be done the right way, now as for the honing, I don't know if im gonna do that myself, or get someone else to do it. It seems like it calls for a steady hand, and that is what i don't have.

id bring it to a shop to be honed, but wait till you pull the pistons also, cuz if your changing those, you'll need a hydrolic press to remove the wrist pins. you'll need an accurate torque wrench, good strong sockets, gasket remover, a scraper, patience, ummmm more money for extra shit like new gaskets, screws, bolts etc.
just take your time and do it right the first time. im rebuilding my b16 and im still asking question that i think i know the answers too, and you peeps on here steer me straight, so if you have any problems, feel free to ask.
