I just wanted to add that u can throw flames with fuel injection, i have a 1987 TurboII with the full Racing Beat exhaust and the F.C.D. My car is otherwise stock except it's been retuned. Whenever i rev high and shift i throw some mad blue flames and get a loud pop. it doesnt bother me only cuz im waiting for the motor to go out so i can rebuild. Carbs aren't the only ones that can throw flames. |

And please dont start this 500HP at the wheels with stock turbos debate again - it is impossible!! A GT3540 on a ported 13B makes around 500RWHP@22PSI on a dyno dynamics and u r saying u can get that with stock turbos?!?! Why get a aftermarket turbo then? T-78 gives around the same power level but the GT3540 spools up quicker and is a better turbo IMO for the street. A GT3540 is already pushing around 15PSI at 3500RPM!!!
My friends Fd with just an exhaust has 215RWHP on a dyno dynamics, there is no way u can more than double that on the stock turbos! I will scream if I here this again. |

Sorry guys, that was a typo, of course rotarys don't have cams.
As far as the flames go, I have only done with carb engines. My understanding was that once the ignition is turned off, the injectors stop pulsing and therefore there is no fuel in the exhaust whereas with a carb, the fuel is still sucked in. If anyone questions my car, it was built at KD rotary and is currently at Alamo getting a big single put on... Anyone else have a 20b here?

basically all rotors with bigger injectors, new computers etc will shoot flames. Because rotors run alot more fuel than piston engines, alot of it comes out the exhaust, especially if u have ported it. As soon as the exhaust gets hot, then u get the flames.
